Chargum-please give us a bit more description about the appeal of Twitter to you. What drives u to use it more than say Facebook or are they seen by u as similar animals? What aspects of your life do u share there,do u use it cathartically or just for amusement or both?
To be honest, I much prefer facebook to twitter. No one I know seems to be active on twitter very much, so the only regular updaters are celebrities, and I'm not particularly interested in them. I don't share very much about my life on either platform, I just use them for amusement, and to be nosy about what people are up to.
Chargum-thank u for the input.I agree facebook satisfies the nosey in me too but I ve also been encouraged by things I ve learnt that are informative and go deeper than knowing someone just got on the bus or had a bacon sandwich( tho I admit to posting at the mundane level too.) On a social level-I love the 'banter' of it-I'm just not so keen on it being used to post negative stuff. But then for some is it a better way of dissipating rage than actually punching someone? I worry about how 'policing the rage' can be done and its viral effect.( Am thinking of the recent twitter death threat post to a female Muslim journalist.)
I like twitter. So yeah, I agree.
